Paro Tshechu is a popular festival in the country that last from 3 to 5 days. It is during this time, the Bhutanese get themselves drowned in their best outfits and flock the celebration with home cooked picnic lunch and witness mask dances. People witnessing Tshechu once in a year time signify themselves from ground purification, victory over the evil spirits, conduction of one’s Karma and eight forms of manifestation Guru took to overcome various deities propagating Buddhism

Paro and Thimphu Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Paro Tshechu  Tour
The day travelling to Bhutan by Druk Air will be fascinating with the first glance over the Himalayas of the country. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our representative and get transferred to the hotel. After you check-in hotel and lunch, you will join tshechu festival.
Overnight stay will be at hotel in Paro.
Day 2
Paro Tshechu  Tour
Attend festival for whole day at Tshechu Ground.

Day 3

On day3, you will spend half a day at festival ground and latter you will slowly scroll down to craft bazaar for rest of the hours.

HIGHLIGHTS
• Hike to Tiger’s nest:
Besides Tshechu program, making a hike to Taktsang is going to be bonus. Taking a hike to Taktsang monastery is rewarding and refreshing. It is solely because of its unique location of the monastery that is unbelievably perched on the sheer cliff, with a height of 900m above the ground level. The uphill hike may take you four to five hours depending upon your climbing pace. Initially you may be challenged, but once you reach to the sight, you will be rewarded with its wonderful atmosphere. However, there are riding pony services at the base if in case you require with minimal charges.
Lunch can be done from Taktsang cafeteria because it is worth having there with its strategic location on a hilltop facing the massive cliff and the monastery. After lunch, if time permits, sight-seeing may continue to the following places.
• Paro National Museum:
The Museum houses some of the finest Bhutanese arts and Crafts and the exhibition on National bio-diversity of Bhutan.
• Drugyal Dzong:
It was built in 1649 to commemorate the victory of Bhutanese over the allied Tibetan- Mongolian forces. The Dzong that served as a defense fortress is said to have housed the finest armory in the country.

Day 5
Paro Tshechu  Tour
The next destination is Thimphu the capital city of Bhutan.
The journey will club with sightseeing at Tachok monastery and the traditional Iron suspension bridge. It has significance and was built in16th century by the Tibetan saint Thangtong Gyalpo.
On arrival to Thimphu, you will proceed for sightseeing.

HIGHLIGHTS
• Harmonious City, Thimphu:
The city of Gross National Happiness is nestled in the heart of Mother Nature, surrounded by pine trees, mountains and the endless paddy fields.
• Memorial Chorten:
It is the Iconic figure of Thimphu valley. The stupa was built in 1974 as a memorial for the third king, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck and also dedicated for the world peace. You will find mostly the elderly Bhutanese people circumambulating the Chorten throughout the day.
• Amazing Buddha statue:
The statue is 177ft tall reputed as the largest Shakyamuni Buddha Statue in the world. It is located on the ridge of mountain overlooking the capital city Thimphu. Evening you will have leisure time. Overnight you will stay at hotel in Thimphu
• Traditional arts and crafts Institute:
The legacy of our fore-fathers’ culture and tradition on 13 types of art and craft were still practiced in Bhutan. It is the heart of our culture that is preserved and taught students in this institute.
• Tashi Chodzong:
It is one of the popular landmarks in Thimphu. It houses main secretariat building, offices of His Majesty the King and Throne Room. The central monastic body and offices for Ministers are also in the Dzong. Evening you will stroll around craft bazaar to find multiple choices of handicraft souvenirs.

Day 6
Paro Tshechu  Tour
Day 6, you will move towards Punakha which is a couple of hour journey. En-route, you will stop for tea at Dochu La Pass (3,100 meters) above sea label. Normally, high passes are mostly marked either by Chortens (Stupa) or cluster of prayer flags.

HIGHLIGHTS
• Dochu La Pass:
It is one of the most loved passes that have 360-degree view point. It is blessed with 108 stupas built with perfect back drop of stunning Himalayas in the distance.
• Chimi Lhakhang: (1455-1529):
The temple popularly known as Chimi Lhakhang is associated with Lam Drukpa Kuenlay or the Devine Mad-man whose esoteric method of spreading Buddhism continues to be revered even today. Amongst others, Drukpa Kuenlay is also greatly associated with the worship of Phallus made out of wood. It is believed that the childless couple who intend to have child can have conceived right after their visit to this temple. Chimi Lhakhang is a miracle temple. It draws large number of tourists and locals every day.
• Punakha Dzong:
It is one of the magnificent Dzongs (fortress) surrounded by Pho Chu and Mo Chu, rivers. This Dzong also replicates the Majestic Ship floating on these rivers.
• Suspension Bridge:
It is one of the longest swinging bridges (160m) ever built in the country. It is a must visit sight in the Punakha valley. Evening will be leisure time; you may stroll around Khuru town.

Day 7
Paro Tshechu  Tour
HIGHLIGHT.
• Khamsun Yule Namgyal Chorten is located at about 15 minutes drive from Punakha and 30 minutes hike from road head.
This monument is built upon a small hillock in the serine dense forest surrounded by nature. This chorten is a splendid example of the Bhutanese architecture having drowned its details from the religious scriptures. It was built by her Majesty the Queen Mother, Ashi Tshering Yangden Wangchuck in 2004 for the peace and prosperity of the world.
After lunch, you will check-out hotel and proceed for Paro.
• Hot stone bath: (evening):
