Punakha, Thimphu and Paro Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Honey Moon to Bhutan
Flying on the wings of the Dragon to Bhutan is going to be fascinating with the views of first sight upon the Bhutan Himalayas. On your arrival in Paro International Airport, you will complete the Immigration formalities and exit through the only arrival gate where Tiny Bhutan Travels' dedicated team would be waiting outside holding placard to receive you. We welcome with Khadaar (white scarf signifying purity) and proceed to Thimphu which would take about an hour and half. The entire stretch of drive is scenic and picturesque as you pass by some of the beautiful village of Bondey, Shaba, Isina etc until you enter the welcome gate in Thimphu.

• Tachog Lhakhang: En-route to Thimphu, stopover for a brief walk towards Tachok Lhakhang crossing over Chakzam an iron Bridge or one can choose to stay back at the roadside and equally enjoy the monastery’s picturesque view.
• Chuzomsa: the confluence, meeting of two rivers each coming from Thimphu and Paro finally meet at Chuzomsa and flow further towards the Phuentsholing. Enjoy the lovely portrait of our King and the queen placed at Chuzomsa, signifying a welcome to all our guests visiting Bhutan.
• Buddha Dodenma: that is located at a hill top of Kuenselphodrang Nature Park overlooking the entire Thimphu valley. The Buddha Dodenma is a gigantic 177ft tall statue, making it one of the largest statues of Buddha Shakyamuni in the world.
• Takin Preserve Center: It is a unique looking animal. According to Bhutanese folklore, this incredible animal was created by the famous Buddhist master, Lam Drukpa Kuenlay affectionately known as ‘The Divine Madman’. The takin was given life when he attached a goat’s skull to the skeleton of a cow. It is also the National Animal of Bhutan
• Sangaygang view point: Sangaygang view point is few kilometers away uphill drive at an elevation of 2685m presents the wonderful view of Thimphu valley. The valley is nestled in the Himalayas gives the feeling of perfect harmonious dwelling with the Mother nature surrounded on all sides
• Explore Thimphu Craft bazaar: Evening leisure time, you may stroll around Thimphu town and the Craft bazaar from where you could find some of the unique Bhutanese souvenirs.
• Explore Thimphu City: This bustling little city is the main centre of commerce, religion and government and private people in the country. Taking the street walk in Thimphu- the only city in the world without the traffic lights gives you a sense of uniqueness from rest of the world. Thimphu is the modern city with an abundance of restaurants, internet cafes, nightclubs and shopping centers. However, Bhutan retains its cultural identity and values amidst the fast changing modernization.

Day 2
Honey Moon to Bhutan
Today you will drive to Punakha over Dochu la pass which would take about two hours. After tea break from Dochu la, the road descends towards Wangdue and Punakha taking us to one of the warmest places in Bhutan.
• Dochu la Pass: It is the popular location as it offers stunning 180 degree panoramic view of the great Himalayan mountain ranges. The view is scenic and clear especially on winter days giving the majestic backdrop to the tranquility of the 108 chortens that grace the pass.
• Chimi Lhakhang: This temple is known as the temple of fertility. It is widely believed that childless couples visiting this place can have better fertility to conceive child. There are stories and incidences that many visitors’ dream came true after their visits. But however, one must have a genuine belief and follow spiritual instruction mindfully to accomplish the mission. Making the way towards temple through Metsina village gives an amazing experience with variety of souvenirs displayed on the way including the Phallus (made out of wood) which is seen everywhere with different sizes, shapes and colors.
• Punakha Dzong: It is one of the magnificent Dzongs (fortress) surrounded by Pho Chu (male river) and Mo chu, (female river). This Dzong replicates the majestic ship being anchored upon these rivers. Overnight in Punakha
Day 3

Today your journey will retrace back to Paro crossing Chuzomsa once more. Two hours drive to Paro offer you the second time to appreciate the nose tip mountain drive and rivers flowing below. En-route you will hoist prayer flags on the way and pray for your newly engagement.

• Paro Airport Bird Eye View Point: The Paro International airport is among the top 10 most stunning and challenging airports in the world. The view point offers an exquisite view of the Paro valley with the stretch of air field right in the middle.
• Rinpung Dzong: Fortress that is believed to have built on a heap of jewel is the iconic figure in Paro valley. It is also adorned with the Bhutanese typical wooden bridge on its foreground, giving the perfect background for photography
• National Museum of Paro: Museum that once up on a time served as watch tower, is now displays some of the finest Bhutanese arts and crafts, traditional costumes, armor, weaponry and other detailed exhibition on Bhutan Bio-diversity.
• Paro Town: Tiny Paro town actually can offer lot more, there are many authentic handicraft shops, readily available Bhutan-made products, grocery and imported garment shops besides having many small restaurants around.
• Outdoor Activity: Nicely made and well maintained activity place attached to wholesale Buddha statue store, offers wearing Bhutanese dress, playing archery and darts for guests visiting Bhutan. Overnight in Paro
Day 4

Paro being home to many monasteries in the kingdom, it is also covered with fertile rice fields and has a beautiful, crystalline river meandering down the valley. Paro has more of historical sites, high-end tourist resort and many souvenir shops for shopping.

• Taktsang/Tiger’s nest Temple: The short adventurous hike to Taktsang is the most rewarding and fulfilling visits of the entire tours. It is the heartland among all the pilgrimage sights in Bhutan. The temple, popularly known as the “Tiger’s Nest” is perched on side of the cliff, height 900m above the Paro valley. It is the must visit sight of the entire tour. The uphill hike takes about 3 to 4hrs which may seem challenging in the beginning, but it is rewarding once you reach to the real sight. There are riding pony services at the base if required with minimal charges. Lunch is served at the Taktsang cafeteria located up in the mountain.
• Visit Kitchu Lhakhang to pray for a long togetherness by lighting butter lamps and turning the beautiful prayer wheels. Kitchu temple is considered as sacred jewel of Bhutan was established by the Buddhist King Songtsen Gampo of Tibet to overcome the giant ogress that lay across Tibet and Himalayas preventing the spread of Buddhism. The King is believed to have built the temple at the left foot of the enormous ogress. Kitchu Lhakhang was among 12 temples in Bhutan out of 108 temples said to have been constructed over single night. Kitchu Lhakhang was initially small in size however later, the temple expanded both in grandeur and size to its form that we see today. You can offer butter lamp.
• Hot stone bath: Hot stone bath is very unique to Bhutan and offers great medicinal
Value. In most cases, the bathtub is made of wood placed on a ground level in quite hut for the privacy. A couple can get into one bathtub to soak. Enjoy the great ancient techniques of curing body ache, joint pain and harness many other values. This is upon additional cost and check with guide/driver. Overnight in Paro.
Day 5

You will drive to Paro International airport and bid farewell by our representatives.
